San Jose Sharks: 2025 Pride Night Jersey Design
This design was inspired by the idea os community, safety, protection, the fluidity of identity, and celebrating individualism.
The coral in the crest represents the LGBTQIA+ community and how it thrives through the symbiotic relationship with the shark, who protects the coral reef from being over grazed & maintaining balance in the ocean.
I emphasized the vitality of individuals feeling safe and protected while discovering their identities.
The triangle shape is a reference to the Pink Triangle. The Pink Triangle has been a symbol for the LGBTQIA+ Community, initially as a badge of shame, but later reappropriated to be a symbol of self-identity.
The flowing waves in the crest is a reference of the fluidity (both in gender & sexuality) in the LGBTQIA+ community and how it is a spectrum that varies for each individual.
The first patch I designed showcases a fin inspired by a Sharks logo from 2015, the year that Same-Sex Marriage became legal in the United States.
The second patch exhibits a font inspired by the most popular font in 1969, Blippo Black (BT), designed by Joe Taylor and Robert Trogman. I reference the year 1969 as a nod to the Stonewall Uprising which began on June 28th of that year.

Bayanihan: Celebrating the Community Spirit of the Filipino Americans of Watsonville
Bayanihan is an intersection of her passion for creation and a celebration of her culture and the history of her people in the community. The mural honors the Filipino community by providing a snapshot of the resilience of the Filipino people and shares the history of what Filipinos have contributed to the city of Watsonville, including the contribution of Filipino farmworkers along with the history of Larry Itliong and his part in fighting for farmworkers’ rights and the tragedy of the Watsonville Race Riots in the 1930s.

Rising From the Darkness
San Jose, CA | South University Neighborhood | Traffic Box Mural
Large Box - Both chosen sea creatures representing the area I was raised and the culture that I was raised with.
Whale sharks are an endangered species that can be found near the Philippine Islands.
The jellyfish represents the county I grew up in, Monterey, which also hints to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The blending of blues and sea creatures symbolize the merging of both my Filipino and American values and cultures. Each is it’s own distinct color but still seamlessly commingling between each other.
Small Box - This represents how I feel about being Filipino American in the way that it’s faded and some of it is unclear because sometimes I never feel Filipino enough or American enough but definitely enough to know who I am as a whole.
